Innovating with Thin-Film Photovoltaics

 

Thin-film solar cells represent one of the most promising routes toward lightweight, flexible, and low-cost solar technologies. Our group investigates multiple thin-film systems, including CdTe, CIGS, perovskites, and organic TADF-based materials, focusing on their optical, electrical, and structural optimization.

Current Research Topics:

  • Development of high-quality transparent conductive oxides (TCOs) via magnetron sputtering
  • Interface engineering to minimize recombination losses
  • Stability studies under light and thermal stress
  • Tandem configurations combining perovskite and silicon absorbers
  • Novel hole/electron transport layers for improved charge extraction

Our Approach:
We use a combination of magnetron sputtering, thermal evaporation, and solution processing to fabricate multilayer thin-film devices. Advanced characterization (XRD, SEM, UV–Vis, PL, Hall effect) guides our understanding of structure–property–performance relationships.
